The Life Changing Story of Aneba Awumtumyiga and Sister – LEAP Programme Beneficiaries

Aneba Awumtumyiga is a severely disabled female beneficiary of the LEAP Programme in the Wurania community in the Kassena Nankana West District of the Upper East Region.

Aneba has experienced a tremendous improvement in her living condition as a result of her enrolment on the LEAP Programme.

According to her, she and her younger sister had no meaningful source of income and for that reason; they could not afford enough food on daily basis.  Her sister of school going age could not also attend school regularly.

After her enrollment on the LEAP Programme, she has been able to save part of the grant and has invested it into goat rearing.  She has also enrolled for dressmaking apprenticeship.  She has also spent part of her grant to repair her pair of clutches and also been able to support her younger sister’s education.
